| The press conference held by the "Royal Spas of Europe" at the ITB in Berlin this year again culminated in a special highlight: the presentation of the "Royal Spas Award 2005". The journalism prize this year was awarded the Cologne-based journalist, Ina Reckziegel, in recognition of her informative and well-founded press coverage of the offers and the philosophy of the "Royal Spas of Europe". Ina Reckziegel was born in Klagenfurt, Austria and already showed at the beginning of her career in journalism that fast cars with refined technology are not only an interesting topic for men. For many years she was the first and only female motorsports journalist in Germany and worked for all the well-known German newspaper and magazine publishers. In her current job, as the editor-in-chief of the AvD (Automobile Club of Germany) member's periodical, "Motor und Reisen", she is able to perfectly combine her love for cars with her second passion, travelling. She has already written articles on every corner of the earth and has steered clear of any clichés in doing so. "Dried up travelling tips are not my kind of thing" she explains. Her well-founded and informative journalism on the wellness offers of the "Royal Spas of Europe" have now been recognized with the presentation of the "Royal Spas Award 2005". The "Royal Spas Award" was first awarded in 2003, in recognition of exceptional journalism within the scope of reporting on the "Royal Spas of Europe". The jury assesses the contributions that skilfully cover the large offer that is provided by the continually growing tourism market of wellness offers. The ten members of the "Royal Spas of Europe" are aware that journalists, and their solid and factual journalism, are important companions on the way to improving the quality offers in the overflowing wellness market. After all the "Royal Spas" have quite a lot to offer in this respect. These spas in the different European countries feel obliged towards their royal heritage and this is a fact also acknowledged by their guests. Although the royal tradition of the spa is a prerequisite, it is by no means the sole precondition for membership. The exclusive standards are maintained by a strict set of rules that the "Royal Spas" have set for themselves. Excellently equipped fitness and health facilities, noble thermal spas, an elegant ambiance, as well as first class service, are the characteristics of each and every "Royal Spa". The promise to "treat the guests like kings" is fulfilled in each and every "Royal Spa" in a unique and typical manner. Thus during the course of the past years, a unique European network of excellent wellness offers has evolved. This top-class offer reaches all the way from Archena in Spain, Baden-Baden, Bad Wildungen-Reinhardshausen and Bad Neuenahr in Germany, Bad Ischl in Austria, Bath in England, Naantali in Finland, Marienbad in the Czech Republic all the way to Budapest and Sarvar in Hungary.
