The father of two daughters, who has been working as a journalist in Hamburg for years, will be receiving the prize on the 8th of March 2003. At present he is working for the Hamburger Medien Gesellschaft mbH, a journalistic service company for publishing houses. For years now the main emphasis points of the work of the Berlin born journalist have been economic and consumer issues and in that connection in recent times increasingly also with leisure topics. The “Royal Spas Award 2003” will be presented by Princess Gabriela zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn in the course of the annual press conference of the “Royal Spas of Europe” within the framework of the International Tourism Exchange (ITB) in Berlin, the international trade summit of the tourism branch. The princess has been working together with "Royal Spas of Europe" for a long time now. Like Archduke Johann von Habsburg-Lothringen in the case of the Royal Spa “Bad Ischl” and Baron von Richthofen in the case of the Royal Spa “Baden-Baden”, she puts her name as patroness to the outstanding quality and to the wellness- and health service offers of the Royal Spa “Bad Neuenahr”. The eleven members of the “Royal Spas of Europe” have imposed strict criteria of quality on themselves, which guarantee the guest that he or she will bathe in noble thermal installations and be pampered like a king in the first-class equipped fitness-, health-, and wellness-installations. In this the “Royal Spas of Europe” reach back to their royal traditions: Where emperors, kings, high aristocracy and famous heads of state found relaxation at the highest level, today guests searching for relaxation are most welcome to experience wellness in complete elegance. The "Royal Spas of Europe" annually honour with the Journalists’ Award “Royal Spas Award” exceptional and special journalistic achievements within the range of reporting on the royal service offers of the “Royal Spas of Europe”. Journalistic works, which deal in an expertly informed way with the constantly expanding market of tourist wellness services, will be honoured. "Because the broad world of constantly growing wellness services is dependent on knowledgeable journalistic mediators " argues Rainer Mertel, the Bad Neuenahr Kurdirektor and chairman of the organisation. "With this we would like to make clear that for us the outstanding quality of the service and the special quality of the reporting belong together. In Roland Lindner we are glad to have found this year a journalist whose scrupulous working method deserves this approving acknowledgement". “I am pleased with this distinction as I will be heading the list of prize-winners”, said Roland Lindner when he learned of the decision to give him the “Royal Spas Award 2003”. “And I would welcome it very much if more of my colleagues would take up this topic and report on the philosophy of “Royal Spas of Europe” and the beautiful baths.” Those interested will find information, publicity material and further details on the “Royal Spas Award 2004” at the press office of the “Royal Spas of Europe”, Kurgartenstr. 1, D-53474 Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler Tel.:+49 (0) 2641 / 801-153 e-mail: press@royal-spas.net or at www.press.royal-spas.net on the Internet |
