| At the awards ceremony held in London in November 2005, Naantali Spa Hotel was named by travel agencies around the globe as Finland’s Leading Spa Resort. This marked the 12th year when World Travel Awards were presented. Naantali Spa Hotel has also been named the 2006 Conference Hotel of the Year in Finland. This is the third time that the Spa Hotel has been honoured with this title. The Conference Hotel of the Year is selected and awarded by Mercuri International, a company providing sales and management training and development consultancy. The selection committee was particularly impressed with Naantali Spa Hotel’s professional conference services and the versatile surroundings, which provide excellent opportunities for inspiring and boosting the atmosphere of development events. During Finland’s term of EU Presidency, Naantali Spa Hotel will host many events, including the Informal EU Workshop on Climate Change and the Meeting of the Sports Directors. According to Hans Niemi, Director of Naantali Spa Hotel, the hotel is striving to be the Scandinavian forerunner in conference and recreational services. The number of international conferences is increasing all the time. “We offer our customers a well-rounded experience in the midst of their daily lives or celebrations. We clarify the customer’s specific wishes and requirements right from the start in connection with the booking process.” In order to ensure that Naantali will retain its spot at the top of the list, the Spa Hotel invests in continuous development and improvements. Over the past year, the hotel has renovated its Paviljonki restaurant facing the beautiful vistas of the sea, the 400-guest Ball Room and the gym facilities. Naantali Spa Hotel also boosted its services last spring by completely renovating the fantastic, villa-style summer restaurant, Naantalin Wanha Kaivohuone. At Naantali’s largest seaside summer restaurant, guests can enjoy the nostalgic atmosphere, a high-quality menu and entertainment by top artists. The unique and adaptable facilities offer a multitude of possibilities for organising all types of events. Another of Naantali Spa Hotel’s unique services is the floating Sunborn Yacht Hotel anchored in the bay beside the Spa Hotel. The entire hotel, including the Sunborn Yacht Hotel, provides guests with a choice of 350 rooms. The range of diverse treatments and pool services make any holiday luxurious and relaxing. During the summers, Naantali is home to a multitude of different events, earning the town its name as Finland’s holiday capital. Naantali’s traditional music festival is going to be held for the 27th time on 6-18 June 2006. In honour of Mozart’s 250-year anniversary, two concerts will also be held during March. Naantali Spa Hotel is the only Scandinavian hotel of its kind to be listed among the world’s 100 best spas. The Spa Hotel has also been invited to join the esteemed Royal Spas of Europe chain, whose famous spas have traditionally been the relaxation destination for royalty. Naantali Spa Hotel is run by Saga Hotels, a privately-owned Finnish chain of quality hotels. Saga Hotels also owns Ruissalo Spa Hotel in Turku, the Sunborn Yacht Hotel in London, the Hotel Excelsior business hotel in Dusseldorf, and the new Yacht Hotel in Barcelona, which will be completed in 2007. |
