Last year the largest Nordic Fitness Park in Germany was built in the Royal Spa Bad Neuenahr and the surrounding Ahr-Rhein-Eifel region. Thousands of enthusiastic sportsmen have since been walking around the picturesque Ahr valley. Increasing numbers of people from all age groups are getting themselves back into shape with this new fitness technique. Those who’ve tried it, love it. Nordic Walking is suitable for everyone, it’s easy to learn and you can do it all year round. When done correctly, up to 600 muscles can be trained at once.

Nordic Walking is perfect for beginners and people wishing to take up sport again, even for overweight people worried about damaging their joints. In addition, the specific movements required also give competitive athletes a very good balanced exercise.

In the summer of 2004, the Nordic Fitness Park will provide more than 230 km of pathways, each with its own sign indicating the ascending and descending profile, distances and other useful information.

Alongside beginners’ courses and Nordic Walking meetings, walkers can expect a variety of individual courses in the Ahr-Rhein-Eifel holiday region – all-inclusive deals are also available. On top of which, visitors can combine these activities with a trip to the casino, the Ahr-Thermen or wine tasting.
