By planting a rose named “Piccadilly” Princess Gabriela zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn aligned herself to the row of merited personalities, that received an invitation of the Aktiengesellschaft to plant a rose in the Kurpark of Bad Neuenahr.
For any length of time the princess is cooperating in friendship with the Aktiengesellschaft Bad Neuenahr. She is patron for the project “Royal Spas of Europe”, and warrants with her name the excellent quality of wellness- and health offers of Bad Neuenahr.

She is an expert in modern tourist accommodation. She renovated the princely estate “Sayn Castle” and “Sayn Palace” in company with her husband and opened it up for tourism. The main attraction is her “Garden of Butterflies” in the princely palace grounds, where sightseers can admire all kinds of spectacular butterflies from all over the world.

Bad Neuenahr is one of eleven European Spas represented in the exclusive club of “Royal Spas of Europe” and the head of the Aktiengesellschaft Bad Neuenahr, Spa-Director Rainer Mertel, is the chairman of this association. Precondition of the membership is a tradition of nobility of the spa. In Bad Neuenahr the first mineral springs have been inaugurated by members of the Prussian royal family and many bridges and parks are denominated to them up to now.

The following decades members of the high nobility liked it to be pampered and limbered up in this elegant small spa on the riverside of Ahr. Very soon then advertisers punctuated the classiness of this spa by denoting the worldwide sold Apollinaris-mineral-water “The Queen of Table Waters”. But to rest on one’s laurels is not enough, to get the membership of “Royal Spas of Europe”. Members imposed quality criteria on themselves, that assures guests to bathe in noble spas and to be treated like a king in first-class fitness-centres and wellness- and health-facilities. Thus Bad Neuenahr offers for instance a three-day deluxe-arrangement
“Royal Fascination” where natural treasures of the region are utilised from Bad Neuenahrer Herbal-Fango to Ahr-Trester, a distilled schnapps.
