| During winter time, a visit to a spa or a thermal bath is an especially relaxing thing to do. In Baden-Baden, the Caracalla Spa and the Roman-Irish Bath at the historic “Friedrichsbad” invite to relaxing hours spent in the mineral-rich thermal water. What can be better than soothing in an outdoor hot whirlpool after a long promenade through vast park and garden landscapes in fresh winter air? Christmas Time in Baden-Baden is the perfect way to get out of the routine before the end-of-the-year festivities. The Baden-Baden Christmas Market named “Christkindelsmarkt” is located in the very heart of the town, amidst the elegant colonades’ shops – a heavenly decorated and illumated little treasure. It awaits you with anything you expect from a typical German Christmas market – the delicious smell of gingerbread and mulled wine, regional handcraft and toys, Christmas decoration, and much more. Baden-Baden, the famous spa town beautifully located on the foothills of the Black Forest, is famous for its thermal baths, the 19th-century-style casino, as well as great dining and shopping. Why not doing this year’s Christmas shopping relaxed and in style? Special winter packages are valid from the beginning of December 2003 until the beginning of March 2004 (except 21 Dec. to 4 Jan.). They include 2 or 5 overnights with breakfast as well as various “goodies”. The arrangement “Advent Time” is bookable from 1 to 20 December and includes an entrance ticket to the Caracalla Spa as well as some Christmas Market specials like mulled wine (and the cup). The arrangement “For Gourmets” is bookable during January to April and contains dinner vouchers for various gourmet restaurants in Baden-Baden and the outskirts and other suprises. “Fit for the new year” includes e.g. a fitness massage and a romantic candle-light dinner at various restaurants to choose from. Furthermore, the packages grant a 25 % reduction on a large number of cultural events taking place during that time, like comedys in the romantic Baden-Baden theater, philharmonic concerts in the Kurhaus, or special Advent concerts in the famous Baden-Baden „Festspielhaus”, Europe’s second largest opera & concert hall.
